“Mel” was rescued from neglect five
years ago and saved from a serious case of life-threatening
heartworm. Mel has won the hearts and affection of all the shelter
staff and volunteers as well many public visitors. He has now
become The Westerly Animal shelter’s mascot representing
everything good at the shelter.
